Send email from your own domain

Invitations, portal invites and digests go out from an address on your domain, and replies come back to you.

What changes

Email Cook sends to your leads goes out from your sender, for example [email protected], with your name on it. Replies come back to your inbox in Cook and land on the right lead’s conversation.

Cook’s own emails for your workspace — team invitations, client portal invites, sign-in links, password resets and reports — need two more switches, in step 5. Until both are on, they leave from the platform address, signed with your name.

Add a sending domain

  1. Open Agency → Email domain, or open Growth → Emails and press the settings button at the top right.
  2. Under Sending domain, type your domain and press Set up. A subdomain such as mg.yourbrand.com keeps your regular email untouched.
  3. Add the records shown at your DNS provider, then press Verify domain. New records can take a few minutes.
  4. Under Send as, set the address on your domain, the Name people see, and an optional Reply-to. Press Save sender.
  5. Open Agency → Sub-account brand. Turn on Remove platform branding, then turn on Send invitations and sign-in links from my domain. It is off until you turn it on.

Show DNS records on the domain’s card lists the records again at any time: the sending records and the two MX records.

Replies

Receive replies here routes replies to your emails into this inbox and onto the lead’s conversation. Once the domain is verified and its two MX records check out, it turns on by itself, and the card shows Replies received. Turn the switch off if you want replies to go elsewhere; turning it off is remembered.

With the switch off and no Reply-to set, a reply to any email you send bounces, and the card shows Replies bounce.

Check it

Invite a teammate or resend a client’s portal invite. With step 5 done, the mail arrives from your sender, and the link inside it points to your domain when you have connected one. If it still comes from the platform address, check both switches in step 5.

The White-label setup list shows “Email sent from your own domain” and “Replies routed back to you” once both are done.
