Delivering for clients

Sub-accounts

Give a client a workspace of their own that your agency still runs, start it from a template, and keep the client's portal working.

What a sub-account is

A sub-account is a separate workspace that your agency created and manages. Its owner runs it; your owners and admins are admins in it, so your team can work inside it, add clients and members, and change settings. They cannot change its billing, delete it, or remove its owner. Sub-accounts are part of the Agency plan.

Create one

  1. Open Team → Agency. The page lists every sub-account with today’s numbers: clients, last activity, spend, what needs you, and how many of your staff are in it.
  2. Type a name and press Create sub-account. If you have templates, pick one under Start from first.
  3. Press Open on the row to switch into it. The workspace switcher lists your sub-accounts under your agency.

Your owners and admins are added to every sub-account and kept in sync: promote someone to admin in your workspace and they gain the sub-accounts; remove them and they lose them.

Templates

A template is a workspace’s playbooks, routines, pipelines, portal setup and branding, saved once and applied to new sub-accounts. In Settings → General → Organization, press Save as template on the workspace you want to copy. Members, clients, conversations and secrets are never part of a template. A sub-account created from a template shows the template’s name in the Agency list while it is being applied.

Give a client their own workspace

On a client’s page, under Their own workspace, press Give their own workspace. The client’s portal account becomes the owner of a new sub-account, your staff are added as admins, the client’s files move in, and the client receives an email from your sender with a sign-in link. Their client portal on your workspace keeps working. Press Open on the same card to switch into their workspace later.

History and detaching

History on a row shows what happened to that sub-account: created, staff synced, opened by your staff, detached. Detach ends your staff’s access at once; the workspace keeps everything else. The sub-account’s owner can also detach from their own Settings.
